Building on the award-winning Small Batch releases of 2022, Caduro has picked up Gold at the IWSC 2023 and here’s what the judges had to say about this delicious dram:
Deliciously soft as sweet peat smoke aromas flow into green apple, vanilla fudge and honey on the palate. A soft oak smokiness infuses the fruity lemon, apple and honey evolution towards a beautiful finish. A masterclass in integration and subtlety.
Caduro has also won a Gold medal in the World Whisky Masters. This release is a unique vatting of Derbyshire single malt matured in a combination of American and French oak, both first fill ex-bourbon and White Peak’s signature STR Casks (re-conditioned wine barriquesthat have been shaved, toasted and re-charred). The selection of STR casks, and proportion of French oak used for Caduro adds extra fruit depth and intensity to the lightly-peated spirit.

Green apple, banana and candy cane on the nose, with citrus zest, cereal and tobacco on the palate, and a warm, spicy finish with a good mouthfeel and a wisp of smoke.
Nose Pear drops, green apples,banana, orange marmalade, nutmeg, white chocolate, candy cane, vanilla fudge, marshmallow, marzipan, popcorn, burnt sugar.
Palate Chocolate orange, treacle tart, liquorice all-sorts, tobacco, clotted cream, citrus zest, tea cakes, allspice, cereal, trail mix, baklava.
Finish Butterscotch, mace, citrus, marmalade, crème brulee, vanilla sugar with a wisp ofsmoke.
