SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY

Ballechin 15 Year Old SBCS Single Malt Whisky 2022 Release1

Ballechin 15 Year Old SBCS Single Malt Whisky

Ballechin is the heavily peated distillation we have been making at Edradour Distillery since 2003.

Distilled using barley which has been infused with peat to a level not less than 50ppm.

This bottling is a Limited Edition of 3461 bottles from a vatting of first fill Bourbon barrels and Second fill Oloroso sherry butts. This is a Cask Strength bottling at 58.9%, without chillfiltration, to retain the true cask character. Natural colour.

The name Ballechin originates from a fellow Perthshire farm distillery, which sadly closed its doors in 1927. There, Alfred Barnard, who catalogued all the distilleries in the UK in the 1880’s, made reference to having experienced a peated whisky.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Through peppermint, peat, and winter spice comes blackcurrant compote, apples, and nuts.

Palate: Meaty malt and smoke provide a bedrock that notes of raisins, dark chocolate, and honey-roasted nuts settle on.

Finish: A little salty, sweet, and smoky.
