Another bottling of Edradour Ballechin Double Malt Double Cask, which, somewhat confusingly, considering the name, is a single malt! It's a combination of unpeated and peated whisky, drawn from two different types of cask - unpeated single malt aged in a sherry cask, and peated single malt aged in bourbon casks, specifically.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Coffee cake, cooked apples and a hint of baked earth spiciness.
Palate: Caramelised dates, more earthy smoke, strawberry bonbons, walnuts.
Finish: Subtly meaty malt grows on the finish.
