The Glenlivet 12 Year Old Licensed Dram

The second addition to The Original Stories series from The Glenlivet! This expression follows The Glenlivet 12 Year Old - Illicit Still, and celebrates the next chapter in the history of the distillery's founder George Smith. After years of illicit distilling, Smith became one of the first to gain a license to legally distill Scotch following the passing of the 1823 Excise Act. Matured for 12 years in a combination of American and European oak, we reckon he'd be rather proud of this splendid Speysider.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Fresh apricot and summer fruits with a drizzle of honey and delicate dustings of spice.

Palate: The honeyed sweetness continues on the palate, joined by buttery oak and creamy vanilla. Nutty malt rests comfortably at the core.

Finish: Warming cinnamon, a touch of root ginger, and anise arrive, though rich caramel remains.
