“It’s nice. It’s very nice.”
- Harrison Ford
Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition was created with input from the film star himself and whisky maker Dr Bill Lumsden. It takes the distillery’s signature Highland style and gives it a subtle plot twist. Matured in bourbon casks and finished in toasted Portuguese red wine casks, it lands at 46.5% ABV and has that classic Glenmorangie elegance, but with a bit more edge and chew. Only 33 cases made it into the wild, so this one’s firmly in collector territory.
Imagine a whisky so meticulously crafted, it was designed to the exacting palate of a timeless legend. That’s exactly what Dr Bill did – Introducing the Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition, born from a genuine collaboration, a whisky as elegant and smooth as the man himself, yet with a surprising twist.
Marrying classic bourbon Glenmorangie with toasted Portuguese red wine casks for a unique mouthfeel, this is the Glenmorangie you know and love, but with a ’bite’.
Nose
Brim full of tangy, zesty citrus fruits, reminiscent of orange breakfast marmalade, along with some distinctive floral notes, like honeysuckle and jasmine. There is also a curious note like beeswax, or scented candles, and with a splash of water, more perfumes notes emerge, like peach blossom and vanilla.
Palate
The mouthfeel has a real ‘bite’ to it, as the lively citrus fruit notes are encountered; the notes of Seville orange, lemon and grapefruit veritably dance across the palette, along with softer notes of baked bread, apricot, muscovado sugar and butter candy.
Finish
Lingering orange oil, gentle oak tannin, and a dry, slightly leathery fade.
